Bound to school for drug testing

On July 22, US Deputy Drug Czar Dr. Bertha Madras spoke about random drug testing of students in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. There was an all-day summit on student drug testing at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. The Topic – Random Drug Testing for Students.

Drug use in schools can lead to abuse and then addiction. This traps the children in a vicious cycle that will ruin their lives along with the destruction of their families. The most effective tool we have is random drug testing in schools! Not necessarily because of the fact that we will catch the occasional drug user, but more importantly, we will prevent new ones from using! If children know that they may have the opportunity to be tested, they will think twice before trying drugs.

Our US Deputy Drug Enforcement Secretary was unable to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian Islands as she was put to work from the moment she stepped off the plane. Dr. Madras also believes that random testing is the best form of prevention. Children’s privacy was the main issue raised with Dr. Madras. Madras replied: “Under the influence of drugs, an intoxicated child can have accidents, can fail in school, can turn to violence and crime, and do a whole list of terrible things to himself. And he could also become an addicted teenager. the brain is not formed, drugs can make them addicted at a much higher rate than other people. We have to protect our children. Weigh privacy against a child’s rights to healthy development!

In 2002, the Supreme Court ruled that tryouts are legal for children involved in extracurricular activities. The Supreme Court is after the protection of our children. We live in an age where we know that drugs are easy to get and we know that kids are willing to try new things, especially if their friends are trying too. Drugs have become a problematic part of society, especially in schools where peer pressure and other factors have helped fuel the fire. As a result, sales of home drug test kits have, in fact, become more common as drug experimentation becomes more rampant among students.

The purpose of the meeting in Hawaii was to provide parents, educators, and the general public with information on how to implement a program and what the legal issues surrounding it are. It was also to verify that help is available and that the US government is willing to assist schools with grants and funds to implement a program. Parents should encourage schools to implement a program to protect their children!
