Hair products to keep an eye on
There have been some pretty spectacular innovations in hair products lately. I’ve never been too picky about my own hair because it’s impossibly flat and can’t hold a curl for more than a minute. However, these new products give me hope that maybe, just maybe, there is a place for me among people with beautiful hair.
Temporary Hair Dye
Have you ever wanted to dye your hair an outrageous color just for fun? I also. Yet many of us can’t commit to the trend, imagining a moment when we wake up from the fantasy and say “what was I thinking?” Rita Hazan has designed a product that sprays highly pigmented color in blue, purple, or pink for people like me who are perpetually shy. The great part about this product is that it washes off easily with water and stays on all day with a bit of hairspray. Rita’s Pop Color Temporary Color Spray works just as well on brunettes as it does on lighter hair, meaning anyone can play with color.

When I say hair fragrance, I don’t mean scented hair spray. I am referring to the designer perfume fragrances we know and love that are molded to the hair. These mists will not only smell amazing, but will also soften strands creating healthier looking hair. You can use it together with your perfume of the same scent or replace it all together, which is what I hope to do. So far, designer hair fragrances include: Acqua di Gioia by Giorgio Armani, Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf and Parfum D’Extase by Marchesa.

Just as there are so many benefits to using a face primer, there are huge benefits to your hair too. Hair Primer is the perfect base to use under all of your other hair products, allowing them to work more effectively and last longer throughout the day. The oils function as both a hair treatment and styling product with the ability to repair, hydrate, condition and offer color protection. Hair oils can also protect your hair and scalp from UV rays. The most popular oils to look for are made from argan and marula and are usually combined with other oils such as almond, grapeseed, and kukui.
