The company recently announced plans for an expansion of their casino in Indiana. The $34 million project will add more than 100 slots, a drive-through valet parking area, and restaurant space. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in February and is expected to last for thirteen to fifteen months. The new Harrah’s Hoosier Park will open in May of next year. If the expansion goes well, the company could have a new location in Columbus by next year.

Another major acquisition by Harrah’s is the purchase of Louisiana Downs. In November of 2010, the company acquired Louisiana Downs and is now known as Caesars Entertainment. The acquisition of Louisiana Downs is the largest deal in the history of the company. The merger has resulted in a large influx of online gambling. Despite the fact that Harrah’s is still a major player in the online gaming space, many people are reluctant to use its services.
Harrah’s has recently launched its Total Rewards program in Las Vegas. The program was first introduced in 1997 by Gary Thompson, who later expanded it to include more types of play. In January, Rick Alm announced that Harrah’s will sell its Las Vegas real estate for $1.14 billion and acquire casino operator Centaur for $1.7 billion. This acquisition of Playtika led to reports that Caesars will open a new convention center in the city.
