Hotel De Sers – A true luxury

Hotel de Sers is a luxury hotel in the heart of Paris that you’ll want to high-five for. Its impressive exterior and cozy interiors draw the traveler into its warm fold. If your talkative taxi driver drops you off on the Champs Elysées, there’s no need to curse and worry. You can take your luggage to the hotel which, by the way, did you know is only two minutes away?

Rising proud and discreet on the jeweled realms of Avenue des Champs Élysées, this modern five-star luxury hotel opened to the public in 1994. The castle-like building houses an impressive array of French paintings by distinguished artists, and its restaurant opens in an emerald garden are just a few of the hotel’s highlights.

The rooms and suites, all fifty-two of them, are suffused with soft light and shadow offering beautiful panoramic views of the city, including the magnificent Eiffel Tower.

The rooms on the third floor of the hotel are well decorated with rosewood furniture and fine fabrics. The mauve hue of the wall-to-wall rug enhances artwork and furniture with imaginative accessories in the best way. Modern technological touches such as the B&O television, high speed ADSL Internet, minibar and others are not to be missed.

Simply magnificent are the two Panoramic Suites on the top floor of the hotel. As their name suggests, they offer a panoramic view of the city’s magnificent skyline. Well lit and decorated in bright colors of mauve, white and deep red, the Panoramic Suites feature a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom (with separate showers) and a panoramic terrace.

But if you want to feel completely independent, don’t forget to visit the apartments on the seventh floor which also offer beautiful panoramic views of Paris and all the facilities of a five-star luxury hotel.

You can dine in your room or go downstairs to The Restaurant with sleek minimalist furnishings with cherry curtains and white lamps giving the place a delightful red and gold look. Or perhaps you want to sip hot tea in the Outdoor Patio, admiring the manicured gardens and the deep blue of the Parisian sky under a vast canopied space.

You can spend your evenings in the lounge bar, which is avant-garde but not advanced, with rosewood and ivory paneling in subtle mauve tones that enhance the luxury of the place. The bar offers a variety of cocktails and champagne that you can always enjoy before preparing for dinner.

For those interested in knowing the history of the place, the Hotel de Sers was actually a mansion built around 1880 by a country gentleman who used it as a second home. In the 100 odd years that it has existed, it has undergone quite a few dramatic changes. The latest are for everyone to see. Livable yet elegant, contemporary yet not too modernist: that’s what this no-nonsense 19th-century piece stands for.
