How to relieve morning sickness?

More than we read about morning sickness, we’ve heard a lot about it from many pregnant women. Morning sickness is an unpleasant accessory of pregnancy. This is probably the way nature prepares a woman for the eventual difficulties she will face shortly. Studies reveal that 80% of pregnant women experience morning sickness during pregnancy. Although it is an irritable health condition, it does not cause any harm to the mother and child in most cases, unless the symptoms are extremely severe.

What is morning sickness?

Despite the word for “tomorrow,” this condition does not need to occur only in the mornings. It can affect pregnant women at any time of the day. Surprisingly, it can even be in the middle of the night. This can include nausea and vomiting or just the feeling of vomiting without the actual vomiting. Divide your food into multiple small portions: Nausea is worse if the stomach is empty. Eating small portions of your food frequently helps keep your sugar levels even. Keep nutrient-dense snacks aside to eat throughout the day. If you vomit, large meals are a waste without serving the purpose, and therefore they go for smaller ones.

Choose a high-protein diet: Eat foods that are easily digestible and rich in protein and vitamin B. Keep fatty, acidic and spicy foods away, as these contents can cause nausea.

Choose cold food so you don’t have cooking odors: I was vigilant during the days of my pregnancy when garlic was used for cooking and boiling. I used to go crazy. Cold foods do not give off the aroma of food like hot foods do. This decreases your nausea to some extent. Continue eating cold foods until nausea turns into a past cloud.

Increase drinks between meals.: If you have difficulty keeping fluids low, avoid drinking them during meals. However, add fluids between meals, as it is essential to stay hydrated during pregnancy.

Smell the scent of citrus or ginger: Citrus fruits like lemon, orange, and sweet lime can help ease the feeling of vomiting. Ginger also works in a similar way if inhaled. Add lemon and ginger to your green tea or black tea to eliminate nausea.

Keep perfumes and scents away: Surprisingly, aromatic scents and perfumes cause nausea. Body odors are quite irritating as I did not like my husband’s body odor, which I used to like very much. The poor creature had to always be away from me. Avoiding them can help you get better.

Take prescription anti-nausea tic pills: Follow your doctor’s suggestion about using anti-nausea pills if you have too much trouble with them or if nausea persists even after the first trimester.

Take a fresh breath: Get out and take a breath in a garden or greenery. Avoid areas with abundant flowers, as pollen can erupt the nauseous elements on you. A cool breeze can ease nausea.
