Kill the Messenger by Tami Hoag – Book Review

Synopsis: Jace Damon is a young bicycle messenger who takes care of his younger brother.

On his last installment of the day, Jace picks up a package from a seedy lawyer and tells him to deliver the package. When you get to the address, a car tries to run you over and then shoot you. Jace barely manages to escape and returns to the attorney’s office only to find him dead and is now the prime suspect.

Jace is now being hunted by the police and murderers! Jace’s problem is that he doesn’t know who to trust.

LAPD Officer Kev Parker smells a rat when 2 homicide officers get involved in this low-key case, which they would normally avoid turning over. Parker uses all his skills and finesse to find out why and suddenly discovers that another sensational celebrity murder case may be involved.

Can Parker solve the case, find Jace, and stop the killers before they find Jace and his brother?

The story progresses very quickly by jumping from one character to another. The relationship between Jace and his younger brother Tyler is very emotional and you quickly learn to like Jace and his noble intentions.

Tami Hoag also takes you to the dark side of the police and shows you how easily the police can turn into the bad guys. In general, the story has a lot of determination and action. The book was fun to read, complex and multi-layered stories that connect the ending with a great ending.

Tami Hoag has returned to writing a great novel and I look forward to reading more of it. If you are looking for a great and interesting read with colorful and personable characters, I can highly recommend “Kill The Messenger” by Tami Hoag.
