7 Ways To Find Freelance Writing Jobs Weekly – Never Miss Out On Work At Home Jobs

When I started looking for freelance writing jobs, the lifestyle cast a daunting outlook initially. Because? Many jobs turned up in searches on sites like Indeed and even freelance sites like Peopleperhour. But a big ‘but’ appeared: competition and bidding wars.

I realized that I was finding real jobs but competing against lower paying freelancers all the time. Having difficulty getting your preferred writing rates accepted?

Be the writer who wants to be found. The answer is to approach the job search in a different way. Before I list my 7 ways to find freelance writing jobs, here are the 7 common methods:

1. Do a telecommuting search on Craigslist for writing jobs.

2. Go to elance or odesk and search for writing projects.

3. Check out job sites like Monster and Reed for writing jobs.

4. Check Indeed.com daily for writing roles that appear.

5. Sign up with subscription sites like Freelanceswitch.

6. Exploding untargeted emails to local businesses you’ve never talked to to offer writing services for their blogs.

7. Tell yourself that everything is fine and just wait…

Look at yourself there, do you do these tasks every week? Now, this is how I once went about my daily gig search. And, yes, it works, up to a point. The problem with focus is

EVERYONE IS DOING IT

You become a stat among a myriad of other stats fighting for the prize so you can pay your bills and not lose your mind. Hope my Highlander plug worked.

Do you understand me well? How many bids are there for those projects on Elance or Peopleperhour? Too many at best for each project.

Now I’m not saying stop doing the usual, but don’t spend more than 50% of your time on it, which should be used for PITCH for clients using my 7 methods.

I sell SEO writing services and also write fiction under an alias. I use similar techniques to find works of independent fiction from a variety of publishers. I can cover fiction separately to find work. The tips here are for content writers who want specific freelance writing jobs, including SEO writing jobs and blog writing jobs:

1. Look for companies that may need help as they handle large orders. SEO Copywriters can capture hundreds of SEO agencies and web design agencies with just one Google search. Look for SEO companies that are actively looking for new recruits, those with Career pages. Connect with them through your Twitter account, tell them why you followed them. Look for design firms that do not offer content writing services and offer them your content services for their clients. Many agencies will have many clients, you can get a windfall of work in a very short time. Many web design companies do offer content writing as well.

2. Use Topsy to search for questions about selling online. Many companies will ask all sorts of questions about SEO and ranking on Google. The solution is content: for your blog and for your PPC campaigns, press releases, articles and social networks. He offers advice, he offers a free guide (just 10 quick dots on a PDF) on the benefits of content marketing. Try to be specific to the prospect’s niche, for example, your fishing equipment site could be linked from a helpful fishing tips blog I found at… Offer a guest post for those asking about content marketing and online businesses. Be helpful and kind, not dirty. Do not promote until you have offered a tip and they are grateful for the tip. Be active on social media and offer advice before your services.

3. Make use of Google searches and the ability to search for results in the last 24 hours. Type ‘freelance writing’ and a few variations, and select to search the last 24 hours from the search tool drop-down menus. This effectively allows you to view the ads as they are posted. And you can be the first to arrive, the results can be obtained from any number of sites. A good search phrase is simply ‘type for us’ in the box.

4. Start a Facebook and/or LinkedIn group to discuss the benefits of freelance writing services for websites. Make it useful, with tips on how to write content, how to optimize content for Google, and mention your services and what you can do. But keep promoting your services to a minimum, as the idea is to get group companies interested in your advice first. This can lead to long-term clients if you are considered an authority on content marketing.

5. Take advantage of business meeting events on social media and in your local community. LinkedIn hosts a series of business events where thousands of companies come together and discuss their problems and all things marketing. At events, a freelance writer with content writing services can talk about the benefits of the service to prospective clients. Events on LinkedIn and Facebook are usually named after specific cities and can be easily found.

6. Use forums to send visitors to your website. Your home page should be set up with a form to collect email addresses and the benefits of your services should be clear on the page; this must be done before any of the above. Find forums geared towards business and marketing, and niches you want to target where you can share tips. And not just in their content writing services. If you’re writing for law firms, which forums are visited by law firms could use advice on the latest software that helps lawyers stay organized, as an example. Get it! You are being helpful, and people who help others are rewarded. While it’s true that a large number of writers market their writing services this way, the trick is to be the most trusted source of information. This means being the one to give advice that resonates, for example how to find traffic to your site, how to set up a Facebook page for business, how to write useful content that will keep your target audience reading your site.

7. Don’t accept orders for items by paying a few pounds per item. Enough said, as it’s pretty straightforward. Be valued for your time. You are better than $1 per item. Authentic jobs pay more than a few dollars and even early in your career, up to $50 or more for 400 words.

Now, you have different ways to search for freelance writing jobs and long-term work. So, all the best.
