Advantages of outsourcing your company’s personnel selection process

Companies that outsource their recruiting process experience a handful of advantages that I will discuss in detail in this article. The term for this process is Recruitment Process Outsourcing, which itself is a type of business process outsourcing.

Before we delve deeper into the benefits of outsourcing your company’s procurement process, let’s better understand what business process outsourcing or BPO really means. According to Wikipedia, BPO is when an employer outsources or transfers all or part of their recruiting activities to an outside service provider.

In other words, Business Process Outsourcing is the purchase of labor or services from an external source, that is, outsourcing a process to a third-party company.

The RPO Alliance, a group of the Human Resources Outsourcing Association (HROA), approved this definition in February 2009. “Recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) is a form of business process outsourcing (BPO) in which an employer transfers all or part of its hiring processes to an outside service provider An RPO provider may provide the company’s staff, technology, methodologies and reporting or may take over In all cases, RPO differs greatly from providers, such as staffing firms and contingent/retained search providers, in that you take ownership of the design and management of the selection process and responsibility for the results.” -Wikipedia

Now that we have a better understanding of what BPO is, let’s get back to the main topic of this article, which is contracting process outsourcing and its benefits for your business.

Time/Speed

Hiring a recruitment company to do the recruiting process for a new project will save your company precious time. A recruitment agency already has a database of prospects ranked by their skills, knowledge and experience, all you have to do is submit your requirements and they will contact you with a list of candidates ready to interview.

Money/Costs

If it saves you time, it sure saves you money. Imagine assigning employees to carry out the recruitment process of your company, first these employees will have to stop what they are doing to focus on the recruitment process, which can be a long process. This could be a problem for small and medium sized companies, large corporations have their own recruiting departments. But still we are seeing that even the bigwigs are outsourcing their recruiting processes to cut costs.

Quality

Some might say that who better to know the needs of a company than the owner or someone who works for it. This saying is correct up to a point, but when it comes to hiring new staff for a specific job or project, this can be quite a challenge. So better leave it in the hands of professionals. Specialized recruitment agencies have an extensive database of resumes and the necessary network to find the right type of candidate.

Nowadays these agencies have evolved so much that if you need recruits for a construction project you go to a construction recruitment agency, a new engineering project you look for engineering recruitment agencies and so on.

Now that you know the benefits of hiring a recruitment agency, do you still want to do the process in-house?
