Broadcast horror stories

Since it’s Halloween this weekend, we decided to get into the ‘spirit’ of things and bring you some real-life horror stories from the world of transportation.

Beware: the following contains content of a frightening nature!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith had never moved houses before, so their knowledge of the transfer process was not that good. However, a quick internet search gave them all the information they thought they needed and they ended up choosing the transfer company that offered them the cheapest deal … in this case, we’ll call them transfer scammers!

The Swindlers Conveyancing staff was delighted to accept the Smiths case. They emailed a quote right away with the promise that they would pay nothing until the move was complete.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith were delighted with the savings they were ready to make and immediately instructed Swindlers Conveyancing to proceed with their transaction.

However, their joy soon turned to horror, as the initial documents came to them riddled with spelling errors and inaccuracies. Swindlers Conveyancing hadn’t even spelled the Smiths name correctly on their starter pack!

Despite being promised proactive service, the Smiths were frustrated that they weren’t being updated enough on the progress of their case. Every time they called to find out how things were going, they were put on hold or told that their carrier would call them later.

Two frustrating months passed, and through a lot of hard work and determination on their own behalf, the Smiths were finally able to move into their new home. The day before the scheduled date of the exchange, they received the final invoice from Swindlers Conveyancing.

Mr. Smith nearly died of shock. Instead of the £ 199 plus VAT that was originally quoted, the legal fees now amounted to over £ 1000!

If this were a true Halloween story, Mr. Smith would have died of shock and returned from the dead as a vengeful ghoul to wreak havoc on Swindlers Conveyancing.

However, because this has been written before the watershed, we have created an alternate ending …

A couple of weeks later, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were sitting in their new local pub and chatting with another couple who had moved across the street at the same time as them.

The Joneses had used the most recommended transfer provider in the UK for their transfer and had nothing but praise for the legal services they had received.

They had promised there were no hidden fees, so the price quoted at the beginning of the transfer process was exactly the same price the Joneses ended up paying at the end.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith were amazed. They had thought that a cheap transfer from scammers meant a good transfer, when, in fact, it was better to go for a profitable transfer.

The end.
