The Boston Terrier (also called the “American Gentleman”) is a non-sporting breed. They have brindle, seal or black fur with white markings. The breed is supposed to have first originated during the 1800s and acting as a show dog is what they were initially used for. They are not the best choice for a guard dog, but they are perfect for active owners, apartment dwellers, or families.
