Four reasons to hire a man and van service when you move

When you move house, relocate your business office, or need to deliver a large, bulky item like a refrigerator or sofa, you need two things. First, you need a vehicle large enough to transport your item(s) from where they are to where they need to be. And second, you need an extra pair of hands to help with lifting and unloading.

Soon; You need man and van rental.

The more awkward readers among you will now be asking “why not get a friend to help me and strap the couch to the top of my car?”

There are four main reasons why you shouldn’t ask a mate and instead spend a few quid to hire a man and a van. So before you make a decision, read on.

Reason One: It’s Cheaper Than You Think

The only real reason we can think of not to hire help when we move is price. Surely getting someone to come to your home or office, load up all your belongings, drive to your new facility, and help you unload is going to cost you an arm and a leg?

Well, actually, it won’t. Man and van hire can start from as little as £25, which isn’t a huge amount of money when you’re spending tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of pounds on a new office building or family home.

And, when you choose to invest a few extra pounds in a man and a van, you’ll also reap these three other great benefits.

Reason two: experience is always useful

It may not sound like the most complicated task in the world, but moving large items or large quantities requires skill and application. You need to know how to make the most of the space you have, how to load and unload a van as efficiently as possible, and how to move heavy objects without risk of injury.

Your partner Steve does not have this knowledge and experience. The man and van you need to hire do. And he’ll save you time and effort in the long run (but more on that later).

Reason three: local knowledge is useful

If you move to a new area, it can add hours of worry and a few gray hairs to your head. Because if you don’t know the layout of the roads, speed controls and the inevitable one-way systems, a short trip on the motorway can turn into a Greek odyssey.

So hire someone with local knowledge. They’ll get you there in record time, and you won’t have to worry about whether your first post at your new location will be a ticket or a fine.

Reason Four: Less Stress, Fewer Favors

Finally, the best reason we can think of to hire a professional is this. If you can get a friend to help you, you owe them a favor. And a favor like that is never going to lend them a fiver. It’s going to be a 4am airport pickup, babysitting a cat for a fortnight, or even (in the worst case scenario imaginable) helping him move home.

Don’t risk it. Save yourself the stress and avoid unpleasant favors. Get someone who knows what they’re doing and you’ll be able to sit back and relax in no time.

You’ll be glad you did.
