marijuana detox

Detoxification is ridding your body of the buildup of toxins. These toxins enter your body through food intake, breathing, the environment around you, and drug use.

Drug detoxification involves stopping the drug to begin with. Once you’ve done this, your liver and kidneys should start doing their job…detox.

What are the physical symptoms of marijuana detox?

Many people insist that there are no physical withdrawal symptoms. This is simply not true. If you have been dependent on any drug, you will have some withdrawal symptoms when you try to stop using the drug. That’s what dependency is all about. Whether your symptoms are physical or psychological, they are still symptoms and will, at the very least, make you uncomfortable.

It may take you longer to detox from marijuana than, say, alcohol or other drugs. This is because the active chemical is stored in the fat cells, from where it is much more difficult to change it.

As with most drugs, one of the main symptoms of detoxification is insomnia. Other symptoms include mental dreams, depression, mood swings, loss of sexual desire, and an inability to concentrate. You may also have headaches, night sweats, coughing fits, and even vomiting.

As with any form of drug detox, you should drink plenty of fluids. You must also eat to maintain your nutrition levels. Try not to drink coffee or tea. And definitely stay away from alcohol. You may also want to stock up on some over-the-counter remedies for headaches, insomnia, and upset stomachs.
