Red penis: a telltale sign of sunburn

Many men love the feeling of being naked, and who could blame them? There are few things in life that feel as good as hanging out in a free and natural state. But when a man takes that nudity outside, he could be in for a big surprise. Even with the best care of the penis, including the judicious use of sunscreen in the places where it matters most, a man can end up with a red penis as a result of sunburn.

On the one hand, a man may be happy to be naked in nature, so to speak, and enjoy the feel of the sun in areas that rarely get it. But on the other hand, he now has to deal not only with a red penis, but also with possible irritation, inflammation and even peeling of the skin on his penis.

Avoid and treat red penis from sunburn

What’s a man to do? It is not to worry. Here are the solutions.

1. Choose the right sunscreen. Not all sunscreens are the same. Look for a cream that contains an SPF of 50 or higher. Although this seems excessive, keep in mind that this is absolutely the best option for very sensitive penile skin.

2. Apply thoroughly. Take your time applying sunscreen and be sure to apply it to all areas. If the choice is a spray sunscreen, rub it in with your hands after application to make sure you’re really done.

3. Apply frequently. Staying outside for more than an hour requires another application of sunscreen. But if a man is going to be outside that long, it pays to have sunscreen all over the rest of his body, too.

4. Wash it. After communicating with nature naked, a man should head straight to the shower. Residues from even the best sunscreen can leave a man with an itchy, irritated penis. Wash off the sunscreen well.

What if a sunburn has already occurred?

If the problem of a red penis has already appeared, there are some ways to combat the problem.

1. Use a soft, cool compress. The heat from sunburn can be terrible. Relieve it as much as possible by applying a cold compress to the area. Make one with a bag of crushed ice wrapped in a cold, damp towel. Gently press the towel against the area and let the coolness do its work.

2. Don’t mess with blisters. If the skin is badly burned, blisters can form on the red spots. Don’t pop the blisters, as this can create even more pain. Severe blisters should be evaluated by a doctor.

3. Be generous with the aloe. Once the sunburn begins to heal a bit, the pain will subside but the heat will still be bothersome. This is a good time to use a lot of aloe. In fact, a man who chooses to masturbate with aloe is doing his painfully sore penis a favor, as the healing properties will have more time to penetrate the skin.

4. Stay hydrated. Sunburn tends to deplete natural oils and moisture, leading to dry penis skin. Fight it from the inside out by drinking plenty of water. The more hydrated a man is, the better he will feel in general, and the happier his red penis will be.

5. Do not peel! During the healing process, it is perfectly normal to see peeling of the skin on the penis. Although it can be incredibly tempting to peel off that skin, don’t give up. Instead, gently cleanse your skin thoroughly in the shower and count on a few days of exfoliation before everything looks normal again.

To help ensure the best possible penis health, use a powerful penis health cream. (Health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven to be gentle and safe on the skin.). Look for one that contains retinol to fight aging, alpha lipoic acid to fight signs of damage, and a soothing base of shea butter to provide the best hydration. Do not use alone after sunburn; use it daily to get the best possible care of the penis.
