SC2 Guide – Zergling Rush Build Order in Starcraft II

Zergling Rush’s build order is one of the most basic in the game. There are also many different types, but you need to make sure you master this zergling rush build order and use it effectively against your opponent!

This is a basic build and very easy to achieve, but the downside to this is that you will be very afraid of losing the match if you don’t succeed, it’s kind of an all or nothing tactic!

6 Pool Zergling Attack
Okay, when you start doing this you want to make sure you’re not building any drones from the start, just aim straight at the spawning pool right away. This is great on a map that has little ground distance between two opponents (1v1 map), you can easily get your zergling up before your opponent creates a bottleneck.

You want to make sure you hit about 200 ores and an overlord, after you build the spawn pool you can make a couple of drones, but you want to queue up 3 grubs and hatch your 6 zerglings. Send these zerglings to attack.

Like we said it’s risky but great if you can pull it off, the game will be over in a few minutes if you succeed.

I like the 9 Pool Zergling Rush better
Why? Because if you fail, it still sucks, but you’ll have a stronger economy. Not only that, but your chances will increase dramatically because you’ll be sending double or triple the number of zerglings to attack.

So it’s not that hard to be successful with this type of pool building, and as we mentioned, your mineral count will still be a bit higher. You will also have a queen in this type of build.

Anyway, here’s how you do it, you want to make sure you build your spawn pool at 9/10 (you want to be building drones up to this point), then you want to try to mine some more.

You then want to build your queen after your spawn pool is ready and because you build your queen, you will be able to create more zerglings with the spawn larva queen ability! There are also other build orders you can follow to help dominate with Zerg as well!
