Something so indefinite, that it can only be seen by the eyes of the blind

There are some things that are so powerful, yet unappreciated, that it seems as if they can only be seen by the eyes of the blind. The title of this article comes from the lyrics of a Billy Joel song, and I have always found words to be extremely powerful. So what is that so indefinite, that it seems as if it can only be seen by the eyes of the blind? Before I get into that, I think we can all agree that whatever it is, it takes faith to be seen. And what is faith? The best definition I have heard of faith is belief in something that cannot be seen.

The quick answer to the question posed in this article is that what only the eyes of the blind can see is God. However, the bottom line is that it doesn’t matter what you call it; God, Rah, Allah, Universal Mind, Universal Intelligence or Belinda. Call it what you want, the point is that there is something that holds this Universe together and makes it work. When you look at nature, and the perfection with which it manifests itself, how can you deny that there is this force that seems to be seen only by the eyes of the blind? Have you ever thought about the miracle of putting a seed in the ground, only for a plant to emerge from the ground a few weeks later? I mean, when you think about it, it’s a real miracle!

Nature proves in real time that what Mr. Joel says can only be seen by the eyes of the blind. In the case of nature, those of us who are not blind can see it very clearly. This is probably why the likes of William Wordsworth, Henry David Thoreau, and Ralph Waldo Emerson seemed to have spoken so highly of nature. They felt something that all of us feel when we are in the presence of nature. Albert Einstein was also a fanatic and said of nature: “Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better.”

The bottom line is that this “thing” that Mr. Joel is talking about is all around us at all times and, again, no matter what we call it. We can use it to our advantage, to live a better and fuller life, or we can ignore it. The choice is ours, which in almost every way is the beauty of being alive… the fact that the responsibility is ours and no one else’s. Never forget what Napoleon Hill wrote in Think and Grow Rich,“In your search for the secret of the method, do not look for a miracle, because you will not find it. You will only find the eternal laws of nature. These laws are within the reach of every person who has the faith and courage to use them, use them. “
