Postfix proxies are rarely used compared to other proxies. Instead of using PHP to digest the page and spit it out, use the DNS wildcard. DNS is a domain name system that changes complex addresses to multiple domains.

For example, suppose the suffix proxy is located at rtg.com and you want to view example.com through it. For this, you can visit rtg.com, where it displays the site in the browser. Postfix proxies allow the user to access content on the web by including the name of the proxy server in the URL of the requested content. Compared to regular proxy servers, suffix proxy servers are easier to use.

This concept first appeared in the form of the IPV gateway in 2003 and in the form of the Coral distribution network in 2004. However, it took four years for the proxy suffix term to be included.

Online users (technically known as clients) connect to the server in search of services available on various servers. The proxy server, upon receiving the request, performs an evaluation, through traffic filtering, but using the IP address.

In case the request is granted, the proxy server offers resources by requesting the service on behalf of the client or by connecting to the corresponding server.

Purpose of Proxy Suffixes

A suffix proxy server offers or performs two functions. First, it uses caching to speed up access to the resource. Second, it keeps the machine anonymous, basically for security reasons.

Postfix proxies retrieve saved content from previous requests made by the same client, which performs throttling of service requests. Suffix proxies also help reduce the cost of hardware installations.

Suffix proxies are especially useful for new network systems and those for whom security plays a vital role.
