The different types of cremation urns

There are many different types of cremation urns. To help you select which one is right for your loved one, here is a brief overview of each.

biodegradable urns:

These urns are environmentally friendly. Urns are generally constructed from 100% handmade paper and are designed for temporary or ceremonial use. Remains can be scattered or floated in water until the paper urn dissolves. Other materials can include clay, acorns, and seashells.

Solid marble urns:

Marble urns are constructed from natural stone from quarries found throughout the world. Each urn is carved from selected marble, finished and polished by hand. Other natural stone urns include granite, quartz, onyx, slate, alabaster, and fossil.

Portrait Urns:

Brass or solid wood veneer urn (usually in natural or cherry finish) inside an elegant frame. A loving way to permanently commemorate your loved one.

Wooden urns:

Beautifully handcrafted, usually in solid oak or walnut. They are a good material if you want a custom urn, however handmade urns and cabinets can take weeks or months. Wooden urns have a warm feel. They do need protection and maintenance to keep the color warm and preserve any detail.

Bronze Urns:

These urns are traditionally solid bronze and veneer with custom engraving. Bronze is very durable and does not rust. They are a good option if you plan to bury the urn or display it outdoors.

brass urns:

Solid brass urns have subtle color tones or feature a pewter finish. Matching sharing urns are available with most brass urns and include a velvet presentation box.

Grown or Crafted Urns:

Made of synthetic materials or natural powder (stone), they are easily made into almost any shape.

Partitioned:

Cloisonne is the art of applying enamel to the surface of an urn. Created from copper wire designs and hand applied enamels. the urn

It is fired, then polished to create a durable, high gloss finish. A wooden base is usually included.
