The right way to move a refrigerator

There are many times that a person may need to move a refrigerator in their life. Often, a person may move to a new home and simply cannot part with a Whirlpool refrigerator-freezer or a Bosch refrigerator. These are two high-quality refrigerator brands that no one wants to miss out on, simply because they couldn’t move them to a new home.

To begin the process of moving a refrigerator safely, one person must first gather the necessary supplies. One person will need a large moving dolly of some sort, as well as cleaning supplies. In addition, a person should have rope, moving blankets, and duct tape on hand to go ahead with the moving process.

Moving a refrigerator will probably take about twelve hours of your time. After one has gathered the necessary supplies, one must make sure to empty the entire contents of the refrigerator. A person should also remove any magnets or calendars that may be attached to the refrigerator.

Next, one person will need to unplug the refrigerator and allow the freezer portion to defrost. You don’t want your Smeg fridge to break during the moving process, simply because you forgot to give it time to defrost. After allowing the freezer to thaw, a person must remember to clean it the next day.

It’s a good idea to tape all the shelves and doors of a refrigerator. This way, the shelves won’t fly off if the refrigerator is moved in a moving truck.

Now that the refrigerator is ready to be moved, one person must use the dolly to transport it to a moving truck. Two people should be used to move the refrigerator onto a dolly and then move the dolly onto a moving truck. This will prevent anyone from getting hurt due to a back strain. A person then rolls a refrigerator up the ramp of a moving truck.

After the refrigerator is moved to its new location, one person must place it in its new space. A person should give a refrigerator about three hours to settle before plugging it in. By allowing the refrigerator to pass these few hours, any liquid in the refrigerator will be able to settle. This is critical to the cooling mechanism of any refrigerator.

After this time has passed, one person can plug it in and must leave the fridge alone for 3 days. Three days are required for any refrigerator to reach optimum temperature. Also, a person should always read the manual that comes with a refrigerator to determine the safest ways to reinstall it in a home.
