What steps would you take to set up a cute little bathroom that’s also easy to use?

No matter the dimensions of the bathroom, it must contain some essential services such as the shower and the toilet, a faucet and a sink. Design-wise, will a small space be limited in options? Not really. If the goal is to build a beautiful and functional bathroom, read on to discover some tricks to deal with the limitations of small spaces.

Much depends on the color scheme.

The impressions created by the colors result in a visual expansion or diminution of the space. If you choose a neutral tone as a base theme, it creates a calm environment. A wide variety of coatings made of glass (mirror, crackle or mixed) or with attractive textures would have a high impact.

Also, it would be helpful to install wall and floor tiles of a similar color. The two surfaces then appear to have merged and a sense of continuity prevails. If contrasting colors are used, they divide the space. With less contrast, the space appears much larger.

Glass surrounds create spaciousness

While shower curtains block the view and break up the space, glass allows for transparency and widens the view. Additionally, sliding glass doors promote a healthy aesthetic effect in the confined bathroom.

Develop a structured arrangement

Mounting the vanity on the wall creates an illusion of space as well as promoting hygiene on the floor that could be used for other storage options. Many essentials are stored there, such as towels and brushes, paper, and soap. Keep a countertop clear, absolutely free of loose things.

Light up every area

Larger spaces could be created through ample lighting in all the corners next to the mirror and the center of the ceiling. If you have dark areas, the room feels much smaller. Avoid using dark curtains or cabinets as they would create gloomy effects. Maximize natural light to increase the feeling of space.

Select compact sanitary accessories

Choose a rectangular sink and mount it on the narrow wall. Install a mirror next to it to create a spotlight. Make the corner functional with a small round sink too. Such space-saving effects would result in a manageable bathroom that serves its purpose well.

The bathroom can be austere but functional, aesthetic and elegant in its simplicity. Depending on the proportions, it doesn’t seem like much else can be fitted, unless space allows, like a bathtub.
