Boston Celtics 09-10 Preview

The Boston Celtics can’t be happy. Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce can’t be happy. Without Kevin Garnett, the Celtics just weren’t the same team during the 2009 playoffs and they suffered a lot without him, ultimately losing a seven-game series to the Orlando Magic. To be honest, the fact that Boston led Orlando to 7 games is pretty impressive in itself when you consider the ease with which the Magic buried the Cavs in the Eastern Conference finals.

That being said, the Boston Celtics will be looking to get even with the Magic in 2009-2010. With a healthy Kevin Garnett at their disposal, the team will look to pick up right where he left off after winning an NBA title during the 2007-2008 basketball season.

Essentially everyone from last year will be back in action. The big three (Garnett, Pierce, Allen) are back, and Rajon Rondo, Leon Powe, Glen Davis, and the rest of the supporting cast are there too. Out is Stephon Marbury, which can actually be a good thing for the team.

In is Rasheed Wallace. A seasoned veteran with playoff experience and enough talent to continue playing highly effective basketball, Sheed will add a much-needed boost to the Celtics, who will be forced to compete with a competitive set of teams. The Magic have bolstered their roster with Vince Carter and the Cavs have drafted Shaquille O’Neal. Wallace is a must in Boston as the level of competition has gone up a notch.

Time is ticking down to the start of the basketball season. The Celtics can’t wait.
