Hotels in Thailand – Tips to save money when booking hotels in Bangkok

Booking hotels in Thailand through an online hotel booking agency is the surefire way to find cheap hotels in Bangkok, a budget hostel on Khao San road or an affordable seaside bungalow on the beaches of Koh Samui. But there are many hotel booking agencies on the internet these days. And finding the right one can save you more than a few bucks.

After consistently being named one of the most affordable exotic travel destinations, Thailand’s popularity as a budget traveler’s hotspot has increased tenfold. And there really is no better time than now to start digging into an unforgettable journey.

When it comes to booking hotels online, we rely on what I like to call the “Big 3”, which are:

  1. priceline.com
  2. ortbitz.com
  3. travelocity.com

Those are great internet travel agencies and I still use them to this day.

However, I do not use their services to book hotels in Thailand. In fact, I don’t use them to book hotels when I travel to Asia.

Think of it this way. If you were booking hotels in, say, New York City, are you going to use a Japan-based travel agency? Probably not. The “Big 3” handles your travel needs over a wider geographic range. They are not focused on any specific region of the world and in this case will not get you the best rates for hotels in Thailand.

To get the best hotel deals and rates in Bangkok, you need to find a company based in Thailand. If you already knew that, congratulations. But there are many Thailand-based hotel booking agencies on the internet that specialize in Thailand, and you may not know which one to choose.

Thailand-based hotel booking agencies are able to provide better room rates and offer up-to-date promotions and discounts, because they are in direct contact with locally and internationally managed hotels in Thailand.

You can start with a simple search on any search engine like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

When you come across a Thai hotel website, look for the “Contact” or “About Us” page. You should see an office address in Thailand and a phone number. That’s your first clue that the agency is based in Thailand.

Next, you need to see if the company can be reached 24/7. This will not only show that you are dealing with a highly professional company, but it is also useful to know that if there is ever a problem checking into a hotel at 2am in the morning, the hotel can contact the hotel booking agency. with whom you booked. to solve any problem.

It never hurts to do a bit of price comparison. Spending an extra 30 minutes in the comfort of your home researching which company to book your Thailand hotels with will save you more than a few bucks.
