Knitting and crochet business I was able to be a housewife with my craft business

There seems to be a lot of talk about home knitting and crocheting businesses. It seems that half of the people say that there is no money to be made from a craft business. The other half is trying to convince him that it is so easy that he can get rich overnight without any effort.

I’m one of the middle ones. You probably won’t get rich unless you become a very exclusive designer. But still, if being a designer isn’t in your future, you can make a decent income from your crafts. I say this only because I have done it.

Knit scarves, knit hats and Christmas items of all kinds. Creating baby crochet patterns and loom knitting patterns were part of my business.

With some baby crochet patterns and a used knitting machine, I started crocheting baby hats and quilts to sell. Of course, getting started was slow, but as time went on and my items became known, my craft business grew.

My business started in 1986. Yes, I am now retired and no, I did not get rich. But I added to family income. I was also able to stay home and raise our children and work my hours around our family life.

It was extremely hectic at times and a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. When you do something you love, big bucks aren’t always your main goal. My goal was to help with the family budget and continue to be available for our family life and activities.

My children have now grown up with their own families. I do not regret a moment of being at home with them.

We still had a good laugh when the orders came in so quickly that the four of us collaborated. We would have the room full of pom poms trying to finish all the orders for the holidays.

She knitted during the day while they were at school. In the afternoons I did the manual work while we all chatted and watched television.

The children recount fond memories of me always being home when their school day was over. We always had enough money for what we needed. My income helped with all the extras for the family.

Yes, I recommend being a stay-at-home mom, if possible. But also try the craft business you’ve always dreamed of. You’ll never regret trying, but you’ll regret not trying at all.
