The Jeep Overland Limited jogging stroller vs. the BOB Revolution stroller

Okay, so you’re stuck between the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller and the BOB Revolution Stroller. I can see why, both are extremely well built, with comfortable child seats equipped with a 5 point child safety harness and multiple seat recline positions, adjustable rain/sun canopies, plenty of under seat storage, parking brakes and running belts. Both the Jeep and the BOB also have rave reviews. This could be a tough call, however there are some unique features that set these two jogging strollers apart. Let’s take a look, shall we?

First of all, the suspension systems. The Jeep Overland offers a spring-loaded suspension system, making for an extremely smooth ride. The BOB Revolution offers a shock-absorbing suspension system, also soft, however the shocks on the BOB can be adjusted, depending on the terrain and the weight of your growing child. The maximum weight of the BOB Revolution is 70 pounds, while the Jeep Jogger only goes to 45 pounds. The BOB Revolution also weighs less, 23 pounds compared to the Jeep’s 28 pounds. Five pounds may seem like a lot, but when you look at everything you get for that extra five pounds, it doesn’t seem so bad. The Jeep Overland Jogging Stroller comes with loads of extras, including a child’s snack tray with cup holders, a handbrake for those steeper hills, an adjustable handle with multiple heights and different angles, as well as a parent tray. with an iBaby sound system. That gives you and your child the ability to listen to tunes on the go. The parent tray also includes cup holders and storage for keys, cell phone, etc. With all those extras it seems like a pretty simple decision, however there are still a couple of very important key features to look into.

Number one, the front wheels. The Jeep comes equipped with a fixed front wheel, while the BOB offers a locking swivel front wheel. This means that when it comes to turning the Jeep Jogging Stroller, you have to do a wheelie to do it, whereas the BOB Revolution just turns on a dime. The reason for this is that the Jeep was designed for the “SERIOUS” racer and the BOB was designed for the “ALMOST SERIOUS” racer. Almost serious means you tell people you’re going for a run and end up walking really fast 80% of the time. Hey… I’m not kidding, I’m the “ALMOST SEVERE BUT NOT QUITE BECAUSE I’M EXTREMELY LAZY” runner. Therefore, the BOB Revolution would be more my style. I like being able to easily navigate around the grocery store or around tight corners without lifting the front end. I like the fact that you can lock the front swivel wheel and have the added convenience of a sturdy fixed wheel when I’m “ALMOST SERIOUS” about jogging. What I don’t like about the BOB Revolution, however, is the price. The list price for the Jeep Overland Limited jogging stroller is $239.99, over a hundred dollars less than the BOB Revolution, which is priced at $389.00. That is a big difference. However, you should also keep in mind that the resale value of the BOB is also through the roof. You can sell a used BOB for about the same price you can buy a new Jeep Overland. The reason for this is that the BOB has a HUGE following. People love this jogging stroller. They say it’s like pushing air, light as a feather, and worth the extra money. The Jeep also has great reviews, however I did find some complaints about the front wheel, apparently some people bought it not realizing the front wheel was fixed. I guess that could bother me too.

In conclusion, if you are a “SERIOUS” runner, you might want to take a better look at the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. If you are an “ALMOST SERIOUS” runner, you may want to consider taking out a loan to purchase the BOB Revolution stroller. Good luck, hope this helps!
