Why do something later when you can do it NOW?

Why leaving something for tomorrow is a good option

It is easy and effortless.

It allows you to think about it.

Possible scenarios are too complicated/painful/messy/tiring/

You worry about finishing what you started

there really is no time

There are things to do before you start

You are too tired/unmotivated

overcome procrastination

Have a good reason to do it now. Example: Brushing your teeth should be done regularly to avoid bad breath and a bad taste in your mouth and cavities.

Visualize the results if you do it now. It will be one less chore to do later, there will be less mess and everything will be cleaner. Or you’ll lose weight and feel good and look good

At least do some of that now. Little by little, the work will be done or the invoice payment will be mailed or the application will be completed. that kind of things

Finish what you started now. Being a procrastinator myself, I know how tempting it can be to put something off for later. The problem is that afterwards it never arrives,

Make it a habit or routine. Clean the bathroom every day or hang up your clothes instead of randomly throwing them in the closet every day. When you do all that is up to you. For best results, choose a time when you will do something and do it at the same time every day. Avoid skipping a day or an hour. You will start to feel uncomfortable about not showing up for your appointment.

Consider changing your diet Do it gradually this week. Opt for eggs in the morning instead of nagels or cakes. Eating more whole foods like fruits and vegetables will help you feel motivated to do chores now and not later. Avoid sugary foods like donuts and cakes. Stay away from them and don’t buy them or take them home. If you bring them home, you will think about them all the time and eventually you will be tempted to eat them. I ate more whole foods and fewer sugary or salty foods like chips and cookies, and I felt motivated to clean up the mess and take on chores like sweeping and dusting.

Take an occasional break / Sit back and relax after doing that back-breaking job in the yard, for example. But remember to get that job done first before rewarding yourself with a short rest.

I know, this all sounds easier said than done. But I promise you’ll have more time for hobbies and recreation once your procrastination is under control. I did all of the above and feel so much better. I am now proud to say that I am a former procrastinator, at least for the most part.
