Write One Article A Day – Use This Simple Outline Template To Write Articles Online

So many readers wrote to me asking for my simple article writing template mentioned in “5 Ways Banking Article Posting Can Boost Your Writing”, that I decided to develop it a bit and run it as another full article. A heartfelt “Thank you” to everyone who responded so kindly. It was none other than Abraham Lincoln who said, “Whatever it is, be it good.” Writing practice makes perfect. This format helps me do just that. It will also help you practice your writing, a lot.

Here is the short and simple outline template that I use to tell myself if I have enough information for an online article. It also helps me organize what I have and ensures that I keep up with the article. By following this format, you will have absolutely no problem writing an article every day once you have mastered it.

First I write this by hand and if there is enough or almost enough information then I know the article is “done”. If not, I can research the additional data I need or just scrap the article idea for a new one. I always have a lot of ideas, don’t I? Sometimes working through the article outline template will stimulate the piece or idea in a slightly different direction. That’s okay too, so I just “do it”. I sincerely hope this basic online article outline template helps you generate more writing faster.

HEADLINE: Write the headline for a Killer article, stop them in their tracks.

You should slam the reader into a halt when they read your headline. Online, if you don’t, they are gone. Your piece won’t even be read, as the lost reader delves deeper into the bowels of the web and into another author’s article in just a couple of mouse clicks or so.

o Include reader benefits in a Hooker headline

o Use keywords for SEO (search engine optimization)

o Try at least 4-5 different titles for each article

o Use an online keyword search tool to help narrow down your high-frequency, top-ranked keywords

OPENING PARAGRAPH: Write a Killer opening sentence and a first paragraph by grabbing them by the throat.

In addition to a Hooker Headline, you will need a Hooker opening sentence and paragraph. One that will engage your reader and give them reasons to start or continue reading. Based on this paragraph, readers often decide to read the article or not, so please make it as strong as possible. You must grab and hold the reader here. The opening paragraph should be attention-grabbing, short, and descriptive. Sometimes I even use my first paragraph as the “teaser” description for my article.

PARAGRAPH 1 OF THE MAIN FEATURE:

Write at least three supporting sentences for each main point of your article. Generally, there are five to seven main characteristics in an article. Often though, I write five to seven supporting sentences for each main feature for a somewhat longer and deeper piece. I’ll also add more support for each main feature if there are only three or four of them in the piece. If there are online references or websites you would like to include, bullet them at the end of the paragraph. You can also include a quote, anecdote, and other reference to develop the main feature if you want. You can start with an anecdote or quote if you have a strong one to pique your readers’ interest.

CONCLUSION (Conclusion):

Write a strong final summary of your article as a conclusion to your arguments or information. Leave the reader wanting more, you are not writing a definitive article on the subject. You don’t have the time, the space, or the need to do that. Provide a lot of GOOD information, but if there are things to skip, great. Include them in another article, a second part, etc. if you need it. There is no problem with that. Make sure to dress, clean and edit what you have written, at least twice. Lastly, you might add, … for even more useful information and advice on “your topic”, go to “your website, email, etc.” It’s really a nice touch if you can tie your closure to your opening.

I sincerely hope this basic article outline template helps you generate more writing faster. Again, by following this format, you will have no problem writing an article every day once you have mastered it.
