Comparison of WPD and WPS file extensions

Both WPS and WPD are Corel WordPerfect files. At first, you need to understand a few things about the WordPerfect extension. There is a significant difference between the two programs: the WPD extension identifies the WordPerfect document files and the WPS extension is associated with the Works text document.

WPS basically means that when you go to make a change to a WordPerfect document, the changes will take effect ‘From that point forward’. The WPS file extension is nothing more than a Microsoft Works save file that is specific to certain versions of the Works word processor. This combo application is also configured with very less disk space and less memory, making it a boon for older computers without the proper system requirements. It is very necessary to run separate versions of the applications that Works Suite used. WPS files are recognized by all Windows versions of Microsoft Word.
