Starcraft 2 Elite Guide – Terran Vs Zerg – Prevent Early Exposure Build And Win Within 15 Minutes

A simple reality of Starcraft 2 is the fact that a growing number of Zerg players are getting hooked on its expansions from the start. As the match progresses, this will put a Terran player at a significant disadvantage. If you’re trying to play against a Zerg player who you think he might expand quickly, the following technique allows you to negate the expansion and win the match for the first 15 minutes or so.

First of all, it is quite important that you block your ramp to avoid any Zergling attack techniques. You should start with building a supply depot at supply 9 and then a barracks at supply 12. Whenever your barracks are built, simply prepare your scouting SCV to check out the other players potential expansion zones. Once you know they’re planning rapid expansion, move your SCV out of sight for a bit. Returning to your base proceed and make a refinery at 14 supply. Every time you finish your barracks, immediately produce a number of marines and place your rally point right on your opponents expansion. Then bypass a second barracks to get a quick factory. Feel free to use this to finish off your ramp blocker like most people do. Just as your first marine approaches other players’ expansion, move your SCV, which should still be waiting for you where you sneaked it, next to your enemies’ hatchery and build a bunker. Ensure that the Bunker is within the Hatchery’s firing range. Right now, the opponent is less likely to have many, if any, Zerglings, so they might try to send in a Drone to prevent your Bunker from finishing. You need to use your incoming Marines to avoid being stopped, plus any Spine Crawlers that might try to put you down.

As soon as you finish your bunker, place your marines in it and start concentrating on the hatchery while your SCV tries to build another bunker. Back at his base, he has some Hellions ready for pretty much any Zergling attack the opponent can counter. Once your marines consume the hatchery, this can completely and radically destroy the Zerg players’ hopes of winning the match. As Zerg, they rely entirely on subcontracting Terran and Protoss to overwhelm them. A quick and smart method to end the match will be to quickly Tech a Banshee. Just create a starport and an additional refinery. The defender will almost certainly have no flak units apart from his Queen. When you have some Banshees, you are in the perfect place to destroy his main base and send him on his way.
